Apple Inc. these days is recruiting a huge number of people to ramp up its sales team. This comes after news that Apple is going to launch the Apple iPhone 5 in the open market, instead of again going for exclusively its two telecom partners out here in India; namely Airtel and Aircel. That in simple terms would mean that Apple will import and distribute the iPhone 5 on its own, and make it freely available in the market.
Most of the recruitments are taking place in the junior and mid level positions with reports of widespread job offers to emplooyees from other handset vendors all over the country. These people are getting hired up for the sale of namely – iPhone, iPod and iPad lineup of the company, which are completely a separate section from the Apple’s Mac division, which mainly handles the iMac and MacBook range.
Apple CEO Tim Cook doesn’t see India as a huge prospect in terms of sales and can be forgiven for thinking so. As late as in October last year(diwali Time) Apple iPhone’s sales where lagging behind other smartphone manufacturers like RIM (Producers of Blackberry), Nokia, Samsung, HTC etc. This is a sorry state of affairs for the World’s No.1 Smart phone maker which controls just the 2.6% of Indian smart phone market share. The Apple Mobiles latest offering Apple iPhone 5 is hoping to change all that. Apple iPhone 5 Features are likely to include 4G services, a 12 MP auto focus, LED flash camera and an increased screen size up to 4 inches.
The phone is rumored to hit the stores around this Diwali, with announcement likely in September. Apple this time seems to be getting ready to fight it out in the world’s second biggest mobile phone market giving aggressiveness a whole new meaning. Apple iPhone 5 pictures haven’t been released by the company as of yet. But Apple iPhone 5 price is expected to be around Rs.54,000 and above in India. Apple iPhone 5, pre-order to start soon.
